Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been a long-term admirer of the New Zealand international, but despite their best efforts they were unable to lure him away from SuperSport United at the beginning of the season. But with Sundowns now in desperate need of another striker following Leonardo Castro's departure, it remains to be seen whether or not they will continue their pursuit for one of the Premier Soccer League's most lethal forwards in the new year.

The 27-year-old is believed to be pushing for a move away from the Mother City-based outfit amid interest from the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and the Brazilians. But most recent reports suggest that a move to Tshwane&nbsp;is likely as talks have already begun between the two parties.&nbsp;

The Egypt international has been one of Bidvest&nbsp;Wits' standout players in a campaign which has seen them fail to reproduce their title winning form, and with the Students believed to be unable to secure Gamal's services on a permanent&nbsp;basis due to the hefty price tag which his parent club Al Ahly are demanding, they are set to lose him when his loan deal expires at the the end of the season . This has subsequently opened the door to a swoop by Sundowns who are believed to be keeping an eye on the 26-year-old, and could potentially make a move for him as they look to bolster their attacking department.&nbsp;&nbsp;

This opens the door to a move for the Bolivian who was reportedly spotted on Pitso&nbsp;Mosimane's&nbsp;scouting expedition to South America, but with Alvarez currently on the books of Club Deportivo Jorge Wilstermann&nbsp;in the Bolivian top-flight, it remains to been whether or not a deal can be struck.
