<p>Pogba was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/paul-pogba-banned-four-years-juventus-midfielder-punished-doping-scandal/blt729c25135d5cdecf" target="_blank">handed a four-year ban</a> for a doping offence in February, but that was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/distressing-period-paul-pogba-doping-ban-nightmare-over-juventus-midfielder-suspension-reduced/bltdd7f0548020dbece" target="_blank">reduced to 18 months</a> after the French midfielder appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. According to CAS, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/explained-why-paul-pogba-doping-ban-reduced-cas-confirm-four-year-suspension-juventus-ex-man-utd-midfielder-cut-18-months/bltde5a6a37cc2133af" target="_blank">Pogba didn't intend to ingest the banned substance DHEA</a> and has been cleared to resume his football career in March 2025, although it's expected he will shortly leave current club Juventus. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Pogba and Juventus are expected to agree to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/paul-pogba-juventus-set-agree-contract-termination-ex-man-utd-star-eager-fresh-start-doping-ban-reduced-appeal/bltf5a4fc581f5c0c30" target="_blank">terminate his contract</a>, which runs until 2026, meaning he will become a free agent. While there has been talk of Pogba <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/paul-pogba-lionel-messi-usa-mls-clubs-interested-ex-man-utd-star-free-transfer-juventus-exit-doping-ban-reduction/blt7e8dcf64c360a78c" target="_blank">heading to MLS</a>, journalist Malick Traore claims the 31-year-old is in advanced discussions <a href="https://x.com/mlktraore/status/1843773982627246507" target="_blank">over a move to Marseille</a>. The two parties have reportedly been in talks for several weeks and Pogba could sign for the Ligue 1 side in January, when he is allowed to begin training again.</p>
