However, he picked up an injury during a collision with Madrid’s young forward Endrick, where Konate appeared to injure his knee, forcing him to leave the field. </p>

<p>Konate has been a consistent presence in Liverpool’s backline, starting 11 of their 12 Premier League games this season. However, his absence will now create a significant void in the squad as Liverpool prepares for one of their toughest challenges of the season against City. </p>
