As Manchester City's title party continues, it's time to look back on a season that has spoiled fans across the country with heart-stopping moments, high drama and controversy right from the very start. If there were still any lingering doubts over the Premier League's status as the best division in Europe, they have been erased emphatically over the past 12 months.
The trophy is heading back to the Etihad Stadium for a third successive season, which is a just reward for English football's top scorers. Arsenal put up a great challenge, but City have shown they remain a class above with their form down the finishing stretch.
Elsewhere, we've seen Manchester United regain their lost spark under Erik ten Hag, while Newcastle have successfully broken up the monopoly of the traditional top six. Their rise has coincided with a dramatic decline from Chelsea, who will finish behind surprise packages Brighton, Aston Villa and Brentford.
At the bottom of the table, Southampton are destined to fall into the Championship after an 11-year stay in the top flight. Leeds, Everton and Leicester have also disappointed, but all 20 teams have played their part in a 2022-23 campaign that will live long in the memory - mainly because of the quality of the goals on show.
A large portion have been scored by City's record-smashing frontman Erling Haaland, while his team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham's Son Heung-min have been among the usual suspects when it comes to crashing home spectacular long-range efforts. But there have been plenty from unlikely sources, too.
