All you need to know about the Soweto Derby clash between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs this coming weekend

Kaizer Chiefs  visit Orlando Pirates in the first Soweto Derby of the season this weekend.

Giovanni Solinas' men go into the encounter on the back of a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win over Black Leopards, while the Buccaneers needed a Vincent Pule goal to edge Chippa United in the Telkom Knockout Cup Last 16.

Amakhosi have not beaten the Sea Robbers since their 2-0 league win during the 2014/15 season at the season.

Steve Komphela's tenure saw Chiefs fail to win any of their matches against their nemesis, and the pressure is on Solinas to turn things around.

Pirates are just two points ahead of Chiefs on the PSL log, meaning a win for Chiefs will see Micho Sredojevic's men move below their rivals on the standings.

The PSL has already announced that tickets for the match at the FNB Stadium have been sold out, and it is now up to the two teams to dish out some enterprising football on the day.

Brilliant Khuzwayo could make his Pirates debut against Chiefs having successfully recovered from a long-term injury which kept him out of action for the past three months.

The lanky goalkeeper spent six years at Naturena-based outfit before joining Pirates, citing his lack of regular game time as the main reason for not extending his stay with them.
