Abia Warriors' Sunday Adetunji has expressed delight following his side's hard fighting display in the 0-0 draw against Rivers United at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Emmanuel Deutsch's side kept their nerves for the entire duration of the game to earn the second point on their travels this term, which the forward described as a reward of their determination.

"It was not easy getting a draw against Rivers United but we fought for it," Adetunji told Goal.

"It was a hard fought draw. Before the match, I told you [media] after our match against them in Umuahia that we will not lose in Port Harcourt.

"I knew that if we don't win, then we will get nothing short of a draw and our coach told us before the match that we should play with the same mentality we used in the first leg.

"It really worked for us though Rivers United are among very good side with quality players and played very well we were more determined than them. We would have loved to win the result will really boost our morale as we are going to face MFM."

With the draw, FC Ifeanyi Ubah are 12th with 26 points from 20 games this season and will face Fidelis Ilechukwu's side on Sunday.
