Wakaso considering Lorient exit after Ligue 1 demotion

The midfielder says he will seek life elsewhere should the demoted outfit agree to his desires

Lorient midfield Alhassan Wakaso prefers a move away from the club following their relegation from the French elite division.

Having joined Les Merlus in January, the Ghanaian struggled for regular game time over the season, making eight league starts as they dropped down the ladder.

''I would want to move to play at a club in a higher league but it is the club [Lorient] that must decide this,'' Wakaso told FootballMadeInGhana.com.

''It will be difficult for me to leave because I still have a three-year contract with them.

''So even though I would like to leave, it will depend more on the club.''

Alhassan, younger brother of Granada star Mubarak Wakaso, previously played for Portuguese sides Rio Ave and Portimonense.
