Christian Eriksen is ready for a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, according to his former Denmark manager Morten Olsen.
After initially making his name at Ajax following a move from OB as a teenager, Eriksen moved to the Premier League with Tottenham in the summer of 2013.
In his five years in England, he has been ever-present for Spurs and has established himself as one of the best creative playmakers in the Premier League.
This has fuelled talk that the likes of Barcelona may be after his signature, and Olsen believes the 26-year-old is ready for a move to one of the heavyweights of world football.
“I think that he was in a very good school, at Ajax,” Olsen told Goal. “But, the most important thing for the players is to play matches. And I think he chose very well by signing for Tottenham. They are always a club which plays good football.
“He is growing, and he is also better in the national team because every Sunday he is used to playing against the best and top players. When you learn from mistakes you’re growing. And he is a fantastic human being, very ambitious.
“He is already a top player, and he is ready for a team like Barcelona or Real Madrid. And, for the Danish national team, he is very important.”
Eriksen’s hat-trick in the second leg of the play-off against the Republic of Ireland helped Denmark to the World Cup finals and he has been quick make an impact in Russia, creating the only goal against Peru and then scoring in the draw against Australia.
Denmark now need a point against France in their final group game to guarantee a place in the last 16, with Andreas Christiansen another Premier League player to have made his presence felt in the World Cup.
Christiansen impressed during his breakthrough year with Chelsea and Olsen believes that the centre-half has all the attributes required to become a leading centre-half.
Olsen added: “He will be surely a top player. He is in a situation where he can play a lot of big games, in the Premier League and Champions League. And these are good tests and he can only get better.”
A last 16 match against Croatia, Nigeria, Iceland or Argentina will await Denmark if they avoid defeat to France, or Australia fail to beat Peru.
