Tusker have joined the race to sign former Sofapaka keeper Mathias Kigonya.

This is after Patrick Matasi completed a three-year deal to Ethiopian giants St. Georges on Thursday. Goal now understands that the brewers have turned their attention to sign the Ugandan keeper, as a replacement for Matasi.

AFC Leopards had also shown keen interest to sign Kigonya to support Ezekiel Owade and Jairus Adira at the Den. Kigonya has revealed to Goal that he is ready to play for any club with a good offer.

Kigonya says, as it stands, he has not received any offers but will definitely get them soon. “No, I was not close to joining AFC Leopards, those were just reports, if there was something concrete I could have definitely revealed it. I am ready to turn out for any club that wants my services, but again it must be a good offer.

“Yes, I have learnt a lot while with Sofapaka, and the experience I have will be beneficial to the team I sign for. It is high time I get a different challenge.”

Kigonya left Batoto Ba Mungu with six months still running on his contract.
