Football enthusiasts in Nigeria are set to jostle for a sum of three million naira after Trophy Lager launched their maiden 5-a-side tournament for their consumers.
Trophy Lager, a leading beer brand revealed the theme for the tournament ‘Trophy 5-a-side Field of Honour’ with plans for the 10-week football tournament that will cover four states namely Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Oyo states.
While various teams battle for glory through the knockout stages, super fans of Trophy Lager beer will be selected nationwide via weekly questions and sweepstakes for the semi-finals and final showdown which will take place in Lagos.
In addition to the numerous consolation gifts and memorabilia for participating teams and the N3 million cash prize for the final winner on May 12, the victorious team will automatically qualify for an all-expense paid trip to the ‘Africa 5 tournament’ regional finals in Tanzania where they stand the chance to meet four-time African Footballer of the Year and former Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o.
Ex-Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo was unveiled as the campaign ambassador alongside music artiste Falz the Bahd Guy and Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo.
Meanwhile, Annabelle Degroot, BU President – West Africa, International Breweries, reiterated the company’s mission in giving their customers all round value while they enjoy the product.
