Bale to fight for Madrid spot under Lopetegui


Gareth Bale has decided to stay at Real Madrid and earn his spot in the team under new coach Julen Lopetegui, ESPN claims.

Bale has been heavily linked to a return to the Premier League amid his recent struggles and even suggested after the Champions League final that he could be on the way out of the Spanish capital this summer.

However, the attacker has a new optimism about his future at Madrid and is hoping to make an impression under the new coach instead of leaving.

Barca eye Eriksen and step up De Jong pursuit 


Barcelona are preparing to ramp up their pursuit of Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the wake of Antoine Griezmann's decision to stay at Atletico Madrid.

The Frenchman's announcement has forced the Camp Nou outfit to reassess their targets and they will look to bolster the midfield while Philippe Coutinho moves into attack.

Barca will turn De Jong from a long-term target to an immediate priority and will be keeping an eye on Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

Real Madrid will sign 17-year-old winger Rodrygo after agreeing a €45 million (£39.3m/$52.2m) deal with Santos.

The Brazil Under 17 international will spend another year at the Serie A side before moving to Spain in July 2019.

Favili completes Juventus return


Juventus have completed the €7.5 million (£7m/$9m) signing of Andrea Favilli from Ascoli.

The 21-year-old striker spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Juventus, impressing in the youth system while he made just one first-team appearance.

The forward signed a five-year deal with the Bianconeri.

Rugani agent dismisses Chelsea talk 


Daniele Rugani's agent has dismissed reports that the Juventus defender is in talks over a potential move to Chelsea.

It has been claimed that Rugani could reunite with his former Empoli coach Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, should the ex-Napoli boss replace Antonio Conte this summer.

But his representative, David Torchia, says there have been no talks over a move, saying: “I know that nobody will believe me, but I met with [sporting director] Fabio Paratici because it was already scheduled. I didn’t know there was going to be this storm the day before. We talked about how to improve the player and what to do going forward, but we didn’t set up any negotiations.”

Real Madrid ready €50m Alisson bid


Real Madrid are set to make a €50 million (£43.7m/$58m) offer for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, Sky Italia reports.

The European champions turned their attention from David de Gea to the Brazilian earlier this year and have been persuaded to make a move for him.

Roma, however, are said to be demanding double Madrid's offer for a goalkeeper they would rather not sell.


Barcelona monitor Gundogan


Barcelona have identified Ilkay Gundogan as a replacement for Andres Iniesta, according to Bild.

The Manchester City midfielder revealed last year that he came close to joining the Catalan side, but the club have made contact with his agents once again.


Chelsea ready to pay Sarri fee 


Chelsea are edging closer to appointing Maurizio Sarri as new coach after reaching an agreement with Napoli, claims La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Blues had named the Italian as their ideal candidate to replace Antonio Conte and the deal seemed inevitable when Carlo Ancelotti was appointed the new Partenopei coach.

Sarri, however, has not been released from his contract as Chelsea were unwilling to pay the €8 million (£7m/$9m) Napoli demanded in compensation. However, the Italians are lowering their asking price, which will clear Sarri up to move to London.


Napoli turn to Keylor Navas


Napoli are prepared to snap up Keylor Navas from Real Madrid, Corriere dello Sport says.

Madrid are determined to land a new goalkeeper, with Roma star Alisson their top target, which could see Navas shoved out.

Looking for a replacement for Pepe Reina, Napoli are the team leading the chase to sign the Costa Rican.


Chelsea reject Arsenal's £17m Luiz bid


Chelsea have turned down Arsenal's offer of £17 million (€20m/$23m) for defender David Luiz, reports Le10Sport.

The Gunners are targeting defensive reinforcements in the summer, and the 31-year-old Blues defender could fit the bill after he fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge last season. 

Arsenal have yet to return with an improved option for the Brazilian. 


Griezmann announces Atletico stay


Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has confirmed he will stay at the club, despite interest from Barcelona.

In a televised announcement, the 27-year-old France international ended intense speculation over his future by declaring his intention to remain at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Chelsea make €30m Rugani offer


Chelsea have made a bid of €30 million (£26m/$35m) for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, reports Calciomercato.com.

The 23-year-old is highly rated, but has struggled for playing time in recent seasons behind established veterans.

Chelsea's interest could also be a sign the club is nearing an agreement with Maurizio Sarri, with the former Napoli boss a longtime admirer of Rugani. 


Gotze eyes Premier League move

The 26-year-old is looking to jumpstart his career after he failed to make Germany's World Cup squad this summer. 

Arsenal, Everton, West Ham, Leicester and Newcastle are all interested in Gotze, who could cost around £18 million (€21m/$24m). 


Bale's future depends on Lopetegui's plan


Gareth Bale will make a decision on his Real Madrid future after determining manager Julen Lopetegui’s plans for him, reports The Times.

The Wales star reiterated his desire for more playing time after his match-winning performance in the Champions League final, with several Premier League clubs rumoured to be interested. 

Bale’s representative, Jonathan Barnett, will meet Real Madrid president Florentino Perez this month to figure out the new manager's vision. 


Man Utd not looking to sell Martial

The 22-year-old's agent declared on Wednesday that his client is looking to leave Old Trafford following a season in which his playing time diminished.

West Ham close in on triple swoop


West Ham are nearing the signings of Felipe Anderson from Lazio and Swansea duo Lukasz Fabianski and Alfie Mawson, reports the Mirror

Talks are in an advanced stage over the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Anderson, who would cost around £27 million (€31m/$36m). 

The Hammers are also set to pay around the same amount for both 33-year-old goalkeeper Fabianski and 24-year-old defender Mawson. 


Juventus interested in Van Aanholt 


Juventus are looking at Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt as a possible replacement for Alex Sandro, reports The Sun.

With Manchester United maintaining a longstanding interest in Alex Sandro, the Serie A club are drawing up a list of replacements should the Brazilian depart. 

And Palace's Dutch international could fit the bill, with Juve prepared to offer £25 million (€29m/$33m) for the 27-year-old.

Newcastle will sell Aleksandar Mitrovic should they receive a bid of £20 million (€23m/$27m), reports Sky Sports News.

The striker was a hit on loan at Fulham in the second half of last season, scoring 12 goals in 20 matches to help the Cottagers reach the Premier League. 

Fulham have been tipped to make a permanent move for the 23-year-old Serbia international, who has two years left on his contract.


Bielsa signs contract with Leeds


Marcelo Bielsa has signed a deal with Leeds United to become the Championship club's new head coach, according to the Buenos Aires Times.

The 62-year-old has previously managed Argentina and Chile, as well as Athletic, Marseille and most recently Lille.
