Although, media reports suggest that the Premier Soccer League match between SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates is already postponed, the Tshwane side said they are waiting for the PSL to issue a way forward.
The PSL clash is scheduled to be staged in Nelspruit at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, April 7 and United said they are yet to receive communication from the league regarding the change of dates.
With SuperSport set to face Kenyan side, Gor Mahia in the Caf Confederation Club first round play-off first leg clash next weekend, April 7, media reports emerged on Monday that the league match has been postponed.
However, according to the club’s media officer, Brian Moshoeshoe, he said the club is yet to get more information on the fixture change.
“Yes I saw it (the story this morning), but only the PSL can confirm if it's being postponed or not at the moment nothing has been communicated as yet,” he told Goal.
“All games are communicated via the PSL so we haven’t heard about any game moving," he said.
Under the guidance of Kaitano Tembo, United will be hoping to bag a win away and seal a spot into the group stages for a second year running.
Although, they reached the final last year and lost to TP Mazembe on aggregate, the MTN8 Cup champions will be hoping to lift the trophy this year.
However, coming to the domestic campaign, United are placed at the 14th spot with 27 points and will face Polokwane City before travelling to Nairobi.
They face Rise and Shine at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in the league on Wednesday, 4 April 2018.
