SuperSport feel cheated by KPL in broadcasting partnership

Broadcasting company SuperSport have explained reason for withdrawing from sponsoring Kenyan Premier League.

Moments after KPL Chairman Ambrose Rachier confirmed the breakup between SuperSport and the league managers, Goal has accessed the letter written to effect the decision.

In the letter, dated April 7, 2017, the South Africa-headquartered pay TV broadcaster have registered their discomfort with Sports Disputes Tribunal's ruling which recognized Football Kenya Federation as the sole body in charge of football management in the country.

On his side, Rachier insisted that the main reason why the contract finally crashed is the idea of allowing two more teams into the topflight league.

Former President Sam Nyamweya has also come out to blame Football Kenya Federation for the ‘whole mess’ asserting that SuperSport came on board during his reign and worked comfortably until when Nick Mwendwa took over.
