Sofiane Boufal scored as Celta Vigo succumbed 2-1 to Sevilla in Sunday’s Spanish La Liga encounter.

The 25-year-old who joined the Abanca-Balaidos outfit on loan in the summer from English Premier League side Southampton got a consolation for the visitors in the 85th minute after replacing Iago Aspas.

Earlier, Pablo Sarabia had scored the curtain raiser in the 39th minute off an assist from Jesus Navas.

In the 58th minute, Antonio Mohamed’s men were reduced to ten men after Nestor Araujo was cautioned twice within two minutes.

Pablo Machin’s men soon benefitted from the setback of the Sky Blues with Wissam Ben Yedder doubling the lead.

With the result, Celta Vigo are tenth in the league standings with ten points from eight games, having only secured victory twice this season.

Boufal now has two goals in five league appearances and will look to continue the form in their next outing against Deportivo Alaves on October 19.
