Sofapaka have been challenged to keep the hunger alive in order to win a second Kenyan Premier League title.

The 2008 champions are within six points of reach to leaders Gor Mahia in second place, but they will need to keep the momentum to surpass K’Ogalo, according to Sofapaka’s third in command captain, George Maelo.

The defender, who is currently on state duties, believes that Batoto Ba Mungu are within title reach and has urged his team mates never to get their eyes off the ball.

"The team has set a good trend. We are second in the table and six points below the leaders which is no big difference. Players should stay focused and keep the hunger of winning the title," Maelo told the club website.

Maelo, who was among the players to have helped Sofapaka survives relegation last campaign added: "The experienced between the players comes into play at this stage of the season. Players should know what they have to do now.”

Maelo has featured 10 times for Sofapaka this season, scoring once against Mathare United.
