The Australian defender has sealed a move to the Middle East

Melbourne Victory have lost another key player with centre back Rhys Williams completing a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah.

Williams returned to Australia in 2016 linking up with Perth Glory before joining Kevin Muscat's side last season where he played a vital role but did miss the grand final through injury.

After being strongly linked to a move abroad, Williams has now officially been unveiled as a Al-Qadsiah player.

The 29-year-old started his career in England with Middlesbrough and is eager to work his way back into the Socceroos squad ahead of the 2019 Asian Cup.

Williams' departure leaves Victory with only Thomas Deng and Leigh Broxham capable of playing central defender heading into pre season.
