REVEALED: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu’s ISL photoshoot took place in July

Bengaluru FC have signed Gurpreet Singh Sandhu for the 2017-18 season after paying an undisclosed transfer fee to Norway’s Stabaek FC.

As Goal revealed earlier, the JSW-owned club began their negotiations with the former East Bengal custodian in the first week of July. This was after they retained the services of strikers Sunil Chhetri and Udanta Singh alongside Malsawmzuala and Nishu Kumar.

It must be noted that Gurpreet along with his representative was in Mumbai during the Indian Super League (ISL) draft on July 23.

Several ISL clubs, namely Delhi Dynamos, Kerala Blasters, FC Pune City and Atletico de Kolkata, touched base with Gurpreet hoping to sign him for the fourth edition of the cash rich competition.

However, Gurpreet had his mind fixed on a move to Bengaluru FC as he wanted to get regular playing time and wanted to compete in the AFC Cup.

The India number one was in Mumbai for a photoshoot with the official broadcaster of the ISL in the blue jersey of Bengaluru FC.

At least two ISL clubs continued to pursue the goalkeeper even after the ISL draft hoping to sign him but the player had already agreed terms with the Federation Cup champions.
