Gor Mahia defender, Karim Nizigiyimana is expected to sit out a little longer as he recovers from injury.
The Burundian international is currently recuperating from a surgery after he went through the knife last November to correct a tendon injury he suffered in Gor Mahia’s 1-1 draw against Mathare United in October 2017.
The right-back was expected to make an early return in February, but according to Gor Mahia Organizing Secretary, Judith Nyangi, the defender will have to sit out out for nine more months.
That means the earliest Nizigiyimana can make his return to action is a month into the second leg of the league, in August.
Meanwhile, K’Ogalo defender, Oliver Maloba is currently on trials in Germany.
The former Nairobi City Stars defender who also tried out with Slovácko in the Czech Republic, is currently in Germany for another try-out though nothing tangible has come out it so far.
Gor Mahia kicked off a 10-day pre-season training in Egerton University on Thursday.
