Platinum Stars set to appoint Peter Butler as new head coach

According to reports coming out of Botswana, Dikwena will appoint English mentor Butler as their new head coach ahead of next season

Platinum Stars  are reportedly closing in on former Botswana national team coach Peter Butler as Cavin Johnson ’s successor.

Dikwena are without a coach having confirmed that they will not retain Johnson's services beyond June 2017. 

According to a source close to African Football,  Butler who failed to beat Mauritania in Botswana’s opening 2019 Afcon qualifier on Saturday, will become Dikwena’s new coach.

“Butler is coming to the Premier Soccer League to take charge of Platinum Stars,” the source said.

The Englishman’s immediate task will be to face CS Sfaxien in the Caf Confederation Cup group stages on June 20 in Rustenburg provide the deal is sealed before then.

The Rustenburg-based outfit lost 3-0 to the Tunisian giants in the reverse fixture two weeks ago.
