Maritzburg United are delighted to confirm the appointment of Muhsin Erturgral as the club’s new head coach. The 59-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal.#WeAreUnited pic.twitter.com/TPKnIjc0Pu
The Team of Choice is currently rooted at the bottom of the log with just 11 points from 15 league games.
Ertugral's appointment has been met with huge criticism among the club supporters, who still feel that Davids was the right man for the job.
Ertugral previous tenure in the PSL was one to forget as Ajax Cape Town got relegated to the National First Division under his watch.
While it wasn't entirely his fault that the Mother City-based got demoted, the fact that he was the head coach at the time, means that this will always be on his CV.
The 59-year-old mentor went down with Ajax at the start of the season, only to resign a few weeks ago following a series of poor results.
He will be expected to hit the ground running and turn things around rather quickly at Maritzburg United.
United have 15 league games to ensure that they move away from the relegation zone and maintain their PSL status.
