The Nigeria international has now scored eight goals from his last eight outings for his Chinese Super League side

Odion Ighalo registered his 15th Chinese Super League goal of the season in Changchun Yatai’s 5-2 loss to Guangzhou R&F F.C.

On Wednesday, the 29-year-old attacker got a brace in Yatai’s victory over Beijing Renhe and against the Blue Lions he continued the blistering form scoring the curtain raiser in the 12th minute.

However, Chen Jingang’s men soon surrendered the lead with Junior Urso levelling for the hosts in the 28th minute.

Dusko Tosic then scored ten minutes later to give the Yuexiushan Stadium outfit their first lead in the encounter.

Zhi Xiao’s 45th-minute effort added to the woes of the visitors before Eran Zahavi’s brace gave Dragan Stojkovic’s men a comfortable win despite Long Tan’s earlier strike for the Changchun based side.

Ighalo featured for the entire duration of the game but could not add to his 15 goal haul as Yatai suffered their ninth loss.

With the defeat, Changchun Yatai have dropped to the ninth spot with 24 points from 19 games, they will hope to bounce back to winning ways in their next fixture against Hebei CFFC on August 26.
