No singular credit for Boateng - Eintracht Frankfurt boss

Eintracht Frankfurt manager Niko Kovac says Saturday’s hard-fought league victory at Borussia Monchengladbach was a result of team effort.

New signing Kevin-Prince Boateng netted the only goal of the game on 13 minutes, pouncing on Sebastien Haller’s assist, but Kovac, whose blushes were apparently spared by the goal, does not want to solely credit the Ghana international for the three points.

“The game was not only won by Kevin-Prince Boateng but he was the player who led the team,” Kovac said.

“In the first half hour, we played a very strong game as Monchengladbach, perhaps, did not quite know what hit them.

“After that, we became a little conserved.

“Nevertheless, it was difficult to win against such a team. Not many teams will succeed.”

The win move Frankfurt to the 11^th position on the table.

Saturday’s fixture marked Boateng’s third outing for the Eagles, who, for their next match, host Augsburg by the weekend.

The 30-year-old joined the side in August after terminating a three-year contract extension at Spanish outfit Las Palmas.

He registered 10 La Liga goals for UD last season.
