Patrick Razak of Hearts of Oak

No amount of Kumasi gold can get Patrick Razak, Hearts tell rivals Kotoko

Hearts of Oak have warned Asante Kotoko to stay away from Patrick Razak amid reports that the winger is close to joining the Kumasi-based outfit.

The 23-year-old has become a subject of a transfer tussle between Ghana's two biggest clubs, who share a staggering 43 Premier League titles between them.

Rated as the Phobians’ most dangerous man, Razak stands as the club's top scorer with four goals in this season's halted league.

"The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited wishes to remind the general sporting public, especially the club’s followers that if Kumasi Asante Kotoko did contact our player, Patrick Razak, on possible transfer as claimed by his lawyer, then they will be in violation of Article 18.3 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status of Transfer of Players which states that they (interested club) must first contact the club the player is under contract with (Hearts of Oak) before negotiating with the player," a club release read.

"The facts are that Patrick Razak is under contract with Accra Hearts of Oak and that Kumasi Asante Kotoko has not contacted the management of Hearts or our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mark Noonan concerning the player.

"We wish to state categorically that if they do, Hearts’ position will be that no amount of gold that Kumasi Asante Kotoko will offer will make us sell them Patrick Razak because it will NEVER happen under the good leadership of C. E.O. Mark Noonan.

"Management is appealing to all stakeholders of the Club to remain calm as we take steps to resolve all issues surrounding player transfers."

Razak was among Ghana's standout performers at last year's Wafu Cup of Nations, winning two penalties as a second half substitute to help the Black Stars beat Nigeria 4-1 in the final.

He has also been linked to Guinean side Horoya.
