Nigeria national team camp is bubbling and the new faces in the team especially those invited from the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL are keen at making their debuts with the Super Eagles.
Coach Gernot Rohr extended invitations to four players in the NPFL for the games against Seychelles and Egypt.
From the quartet, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is no longer a newbie with the national team, he has become a regular face in the set-up and even made the cut for the World Cup in Russia.
However, for Akwa United’s Ndifreke Effiong and the Enyimba duo of Valentine Ozornwafor and Ikouwem Utin they are all eager to hit the ground running with the Super Eagles with possible debuts against Seychelles or Egypt on the cards.
For the NPFL stars, they are ready to give their very best if the national team handlers consider them for action either in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Pirates or the high-profile friendly against the Pharaohs.
'I am a utility player, I play for Akwa United FC. I am happy to be here in Super Eagles camp and if I am called to play against Seychelles or Egypt, I will give my one hundred per cent,'' Effiong said in a video posted by the Nigerian Federation's official Twitter account.
Also, the duo of Utin and Ozornwafor assured that they would make the best use of any chance given to them in the upcoming doubleheader.
“By the special grace of God, if I am being selected for either the game against Seychelles or Egypt, I will give my best,” the towering Enyimba defender who was with the recent Flying Eagles team assured.
Already, Coach Rohr has given an indication that a large chunk of the 23 players in camp will get a chance to show themselves in either of the two games billed for the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Delta state on Friday and Tuesday.
