Former West Ham United striker Dean Ashton believes Liverpool winger 'Mohamed Salah is the best signing of the summer'.

The Reds landed the Egypt international from Roma in a record deal. And he has scored 12 goals in just 17 appearances across all competitions so far this term.

And Ashton, convinced the 25-year-old has improved immensely from the player he was at Chelsea, has named him as his best buy of the summer.

“Mohamed Salah is the best signing of the summer," Ashton told the Premier League's official website.

"He looks a totally different player from his time at Chelsea.

“I’ve been surprised by how quick, how direct he is, and he’s a better finisher than I thought.

”He’s really added to that Liverpool side.”

Salah will be looking to continue his rich vein of goalscoring form when Liverpool host Southampton in their next English top flight encounter on November 18.
