Michael Madoya stings late to salvage vital point for Zoo Kericho against Bandari

Michael Madoya's late strike helped Zoo FC pick a vital point against second-placed Bandari following a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Bandari thought that they had restored their seven-point gap between them and third-placed AFC Leopards until Madoya spoilt the party with a late equalizer after Yema Mwana had given the Dockers an early first-half lead.

Yema could have silenced the home crowd just a few minutes after he gave Bandari the lead, but he went for power rather than a simple placement after Bandari once again found themselves in a promising position but Zoo survived.

Joshua Oyoo fed Yema with a lovely cross just moments after he came on for David King’atua but Yema effort was blocked by the post after he latched onto a rebound from Zoo custodian.

Michael Madoya rose to the occasion with an equalizer, just moments after Bandari made a double substitution with Dan Guya and Wycliffe Ochomo coming on to replace Wilberforce Lugogo and Yema.

The draw left Bandari still second on the log but just five points ahead of Ingwe, who have 51 points while Zoo moved joint on points with Nzoia Sugar on 37 points.

Nzoia, formerly coached by Bandari tactician Bernard Mwalala, lost 3-2 to Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium.
