Ghana PL: Hearts continue search for first win

For obvious reasons, all eyes will be on Hearts of Oak when the Ghana Premier League enters week three on Wednesday.

The Phobians are without a win after two matchdays, and following the appointment of Scotsman Frank Nuttall as head coach last week, there’s mounting pressure for three points in the side’s away clash with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.

Elsewhere in Kumasi, Asante Kotoko will be seeking a winning return when they host FA Cup holders Bechem United, who will be making their first appearance in this season’s championship following a premature elimination from the Caf Confederation Cup on Saturday.

League leaders Aduana Stars will be hoping to make it three wins in a row when they host newly-promoted Bolga All Stars at Dormaa.

Referee Dally Gagba will be the central man in the fixture between Medeama and Inter Allies at the Tarkwa T&A Park, the latter currently sitting on the 11th position with a point to their name.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, new boys Great Olympics will be chasing their first win of the season in their welcome of fellow newly-promoted Elmina Sharks.

Following Sunday’s draw with Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea will want to pick all points when they lock horns with Liberty Professionals, who come into the game on the back of a 2-0 victory over Inter Allies.

Finally, league returnees Tema Youth welcome Ashanti Gold to the Tema Stadium.

The match between reigning champions Wa All Stars and Wafa has been rescheduled.
