Liverpool v Man Utd team news: Herrera and Martial handed starts at Anfield

Jose Mourinho has been forced to shuffle his pack for a Premier League trip to Merseyside, while opposite number Jurgen Klopp has done likewise

Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial have been handed starting berths in Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho has seen his options depleted by injury, with Marouane Fellaini joining Paul Pogba on the treatment table during the international break.

Michael Carrick is also missing, but Phil Jones and Romelu Lukaku are fit enough to figure from the off as United seek to stretch their unbeaten start to the season at Anfield.

Man Utd starting XI: De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Mkhitaryan, Herrera, Matic, Martial, Young, Lukaku

Man Utd subs: Romero, Blind, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Lingard, Mata, Rashford

Roberto Firmino and Emre Can are restored to Liverpool’s first 11 for the visit of the Red Devils.

The Brazil international replaces Daniel Sturridge in the line-up, and with Sadio Mane sidelined through a hamstring injury, the German midfielder is restored in the centre of the park with Philippe Coutinho filling the void of the speedster at left forward.
