Leonardo Castro calls for consistency from Kaizer Chiefs teammates

Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro says they need to keep believing in themselves as they look to finish their Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign on a high.

The Soweto giants bagged a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United on Saturday evening to move to the sixth spot on the log table.

"The confidence is higher. It's two games won, so it's good for us to keep this performance every weekend," Castro said to SuperSport TV.

The Colombian forward was named as the Man of the Match at the FNB Stadium and said it was tough facing a resilient Team of Choice that is deep in the relegation quagmire.

"Tough game for Kaizer Chiefs. Every game is a final for us, we know the situation of Maritzburg. We did our job and were going closer in the table and to our goal,” he added.

Although Chiefs have 35 points from 23 games and trailing log leaders Orlando Pirates by five points, the lanky hitman has called on his teammates to maintain their winning run until the end of the season.

"We need to believe in us. It's not finished the tournament (PSL title race), we need to keep the winning mentality till the end,” concluded the striker.

In addition, Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has led his men to a second win on the trot as they will now prepare to face SuperSport United next weekend.
