Kwesi Appiah urges Ghanaians for support

Al Khartoum manager Kwesi Appiah has urged Ghanaians to support him following his reappointment as Black Stars coach.

The 56-year-old was handed a two-year contract this week to succeed former Chelsea boss Avram Grant, who vacated the position in February.

Appiah returns to a position he previously held between 2012 and 2014, thanking the Ghana Football Association for their trust.

“We have belief in ourselves. The most important thing is our leaders or FA presidents having the confidence in us, giving us every support they would have given foreign coaches,” Appiah told Supersport.

“If we all support our own, we will be successful. There won't be the need to bring someone from outside to do it for us and for that reason, we can always open our chest and say this is our own [man], who is managing us and is taking us far,” he added

Goal understand that Appiah will arrive in Ghana on Saturday from his base in Sudan and will meet with the GFA before the unveiling of his back room staff.
