Ghana international Isaac Vorsah wants Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah to bolster his squad with experienced players.

The 58-year-old coach has been on a rebuilding exercise since assuming duty in May last year.

With the team failing in their attempt to turn around their poor start to the qualifiers for the World Cup, consequently missing the ongoing final tournament in Russia, Vorsah reckons some few old guards will make the current set-up a formidable force.

"All I can say about the current Black Stars is that coach Kwesi Appiah should maintain this squad and balance it with one or two experienced players because experience is very important in football," the 30-year-old centre-back, who currently plays for Saudi club Ohod Al-Medina, told Happy FM.

"It is not just about turning up on the pitch to play.

"However, I'm happy with the work of the boys so far.

"Everybody knows Ghana is good when it's comes to football, so with a little push, everything will be well with our national team."

Ghana, who settled for a 2-2 draw with World Cup-bound Iceland in June, return to action in September when they take on Kenya in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

Aside from representing Ghana at the Afcon, Vorsah played for the Black Stars as they reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa
