KPL Preview: Posta Rangers keen to bounce back against Sofapaka

There are five Kenyan Premier League matches to be played on Wednesday.

Posta Rangers, who have of late been inconsistent, will welcome the unpredictable Sofapaka hoping to get something from the 2009 champions. Batoto ba Mungu lost their third game in five outings after falling to Kariobangi Sharks by a solitary goal last weekend.

The mailmen also suffered a 3-2 defeat against Nakumatt at Camp Toyoyo, their third loss in four league matches. It will be an entertaining clash considering the fact that both sides are desperate for maximum points.

Kariobangi Sharks, who recently ended their losing streak by beating Sofapaka, will take on bottom side Thika United, who have lost their touch. The milkmen need maximum points against the Sharks and will be trying to do exactly that at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

At the same venue, Wazito will host AFC Leopards; with six games to go, Wazito FC have to ensure they secure a point from this game and win the remaining five to stand a chance of staying in the top tier. It is a tricky position considering the fact that they have a goal difference of -19.

The Frank Ouna led side lost the first leg to Ingwe by 3-2 and it means they have what it takes to get something from this match.

On the other hand, Rodolfo Zapata led Leopards have a good chance of finishing second in the league. Currently third on the log with 48 points, the twelve-time league champions will open a seven-point gap between them and third placed Sofapaka if they manage to get maximum points against Wazito.

Tusker will confront Chemelil without the services of their custodian Patrick Matasi. The former Posta Rangers keeper has accumulated five yellow cards meaning he will not take part in the brewers' next two matches.
