Samuel Kalu scored in Gent's 3-0 home win against Mechelen at Ghelamco Arena to book a place in the Belgian's Jupiler Pro League play-offs on Sunday.
Kalu's second half goal plus Jeremy Perbet and Yuya Kubo's first half strikes ensured Hein Vanhaezebrouck's men extended their league winning streak to three.
The 19-year-old was the only Nigerian on target in the contest that also had Moses Simon, Anderson Esiti and William Troost-Ekong lasting who lasted for the entire duration of the game.
Perbet grabbed the lead for the home team thanks to Simon's assist before Kubo made it 2-0 on the brink of half time.
Seconds into the second stanza, Kalu fired home the third on receiving an assist from Perbet to complete the rout for the hosts.
