Marauding Georgia-based left back Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma has injected fresh aura into Harambee Stars camp in Machakos after linking up with his international teammates on Tuesday.

Ouma, who plies his trade with Kolkheti Poti in Georgia, joined camp on Tuesday morning and his presence is expected to boost the mood of the upbeat Stars as they prepare for the major test with lowly ranked Sierra Leone in Freetown, in just under five days.

Ouma was among the 13 foreign-based players considered for the clash. His presence brings to five the number of foreign-based players in camp. Others are midfielder Eric Johanna, Victor Wanyama, Joseph Okumu and Brian Mandela.

Meanwhile, the Zambian based trio of Anthony ‘Teddy’ Akumu, David ‘Calabar’ Owino and Jesse Jackson Were ­– who all ply their trade with Zambian powerhouse Zesco United, are expected to link up with their counterparts Tuesday.

The Stars face a litmus test in West Africa, where they tackle the Leone Stars. West Africa has been a tough hunting ground for the home boys and it remains to be seen how coach Stanley Okumbi will navigate through the tricky fixture.
