Owolabi charges Plateau United ahead Shooting Stars tie

Plateau United’s midfielder Hamzat Owolabi has charged his teammates to go in search of another win against Shooting Stars.

Jamiu who joined the Peace Boys during the mid-season told his colleagues not to be carried away by their draw in Makurdi against Lobi Stars in last week's encounter.

“It is no time for us to think that we are closer to the league title. We have an advantage and no doubt about that but with seven matches to the end of the season, things can change very quickly if we fail to hold on to our lead,” Jamiu told Goal.

“We must remain focused till the end of the season and aware of the consequence of our actions if we become complacent now. We have a game against Shooting Stars this weekend and I expect us to remain very competitive.

“They will be coming with so much enthusiasm and confidence having just beaten Enyimba and with the result we got in Makurdi, it is very easy for us to think that the weekend game is done and dusted but that will only be to our detriment.”

Plateau United are on top of the league table with 55 points from 31 matches and a home win against the Oluyole Warriors could see them extend their lead at the top.
