Fabinho: I'm not totally settled at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has admitted that he is still adapting to the way Jurgen Klopp wants him to play for the Reds but says he is "on the right track".

The former Monaco man, who arrived at Anfield for a fee in the region of £43 million ($58m) in the summer, has now made three consecutive starts for the Reds after a slow start to his time on Merseyside.

Klopp was reluctant to throw Fabinho in at the deep end, claiming that he felt the midfielder needed time to fully adjust to his preferred style of play. The 25-year-old only made his full Premier League and Champions League debuts for the club towards the end of October.

But with injuries to Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita presenting him with an opportunity, Fabinho feels he’s now on his way to fully adjusting to English football.

"I'm not totally settled just yet," Fabinho told Sky Sports.

"I'm still adapting to here but I believe that I'm now used to the football style, especially when it comes to the intensity of the game which is really different from the league that I came from.

"Also, I'm feeling well at the club. I can communicate well with my team-mates, even though my English isn't great. The language barrier is one of the issues so far.”

Fabinho was a key part of the talented Monaco side that reached the Champions League semi-finals during the 2016-17 season and was tipped to make a big impact on Liverpool's midfield.

Reds captain Henderson is the player who usually occupies Fabinho’s preferred position and the Brazil international found his opportunities limited during the opening weeks of the season.

However, Klopp continues to insist that Fabinho will go on to be an important player for his side and has indicated that he has taken significant steps forward in recent weeks, with the player also of the opinion that he is making good progress.

"Regarding the managers, I'm adapted to their training sessions and I'm comfortable with that. I'm now playing more regularly, which is also important,” Fabinho added.

"I'm on the right track to completely adapting to England."

Fabinho will be hoping for another start in Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
