Henry Onyekuru feels ‘great’ with Nigeria reunion

The youngster missed out on a place in the Super Eagles’ squad to the World Cup owing to injury and is delighted to return to the team

Henry Onyekuru has expressed his excitement after rejoining the Nigeria national team ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Seychelles.

The new Galatasaray recruit was left out of the Super Eagles’ squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia due to his struggle with a knee injury.

Although he managed to shake off the setback prior to the tournament, failing to prove his fitness ahead of the global showpiece denied him a place in the team as he could not get game time at former club Anderlecht on his return from the injury.

And the 21-year-old who was handed a recall by Gernot Rohr ahead of Saturday's clash with the Pirates has shared his delight.

“Great to be back with my brothers,” Onyekuru wrote on Twitter .

"Nice little beach workout today. Africa is beautiful."
