Hearts of Oak suffered a drawback in their quest to win their first Ghana Premier League title since 2009 after sharing the spoils 3-3 with Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

Hearts coach Frank Elliott Nuttall made a single change in his starting XI that defeated Great Olympics in the Mantse derby while goalkeeper Stephen Adams replaced Joseph Addo who is on international duty with the Black Stars.

Aduana appeared to be wobbling within the opening minutes of the game, but later ventured forward, with Daniel Darkwah snatching the opener. Noah Martey's sidestep was too deft for his marker, before he cut it back for Darkwah whose effort took a huge deflection and beat goalkeeper Ben Mensah.

Hearts took control of the game after the goal and finally equalised by the 13th minute through Cobbinah, who finished off a Thomas Abbey's rebound.

Aduana made it 2-1 against the run of play on 25th minute when Derrick Sasraku connected a cross from Elvis Opoku, before beating Robin Gnagne and Vincent Atinga and calmly sending his last ditch effort past onrushing goalkeeper Mensah.

Kwame Kizito combined with Samudeen Ibrahim to heap threat on Aduana's area on 38th minute but Emmanuel Akuoko and Sam Adams were able to deal with the danger.

Hearts continued their search for the equaliser after the break. Abbey's double strike was blocked by Akuoko. The Phobians finally found a breach in Aduana's setup on 50th minute and Abbey made it 2-2.

The Phobians appealed in vain for a penalty ten minutes later, after Patrick Razak's shot on goal was blocked by Sam Adams, before Zakaria Mumuni made a goal-line clearance for Aduana.

By the 77th minute, Aduana were leading once again through Nathaniel Asamoah but Hearts made it 3-3 six minutes later through Kizito after a miscalculation by goalkeeper Stephen Adams, who picked up an injury in the process.

Goalkeeper Gordon Yeboah replaced Adams and the substitute shot-stopper made three brilliant saves to deny Hearts a late winner.

With Wafa sharing the spoils goalless at home against Olympics, Aduana still top the log with 48 points, four points above Hearts.
