Confederation of African Football (Caf) have imposed a fine of Sh500, 000 on Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.

K’Ogalo were served a letter from the African body on Tuesday, asking that they pay a fine of USD5, 000 (approximately Sh500, 000), following the crowd trouble that marred their Caf match against Rayon Sports of Rwanda.

“The Caf Disciplinary Board has decided to impose upon your club a financial sanction of 5,000 dollars for unsporting and offensive behaviours of your supporters,” stated the letter from Caf and  obtained by Goal.

Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda has confirmed receipt of the letter from Caf and cautioned fans to abstain from such behaviours in the near future. “Look now we have to pay a fine because of what happened against Rayon Sports. I ask our fans to change their behaviours because such fines are not warranted.”

Gor Mahia were bundled out of the Group stages of the competition.
