Gor Mahia defender Karim Nizigiyimana is back in training after a long layoff with injury.
The Burundian international has been missing in action since the nasty ankle injury suffered in a league match against Mathare United last year in October.
The defender resumed light training session on Wednesday as he started the final phase of the long recovery process that saw him miss the tail end of the league with the defending champions.
According to close sources within the club, Nizigiyimana may be registered in Gor Mahia’s list of players for the Caf Confederation Cup.
“I’m so happy we qualified for the Group stages, we have been building up for this all the way from 2015.
“Our target was Champions League because as a team, we believe that’s where we belong, but it’s fine this is a big step, we’ll continue till we get there,” Nizigiyimana told Gor Mahia media.
K’Ogalo are set to take on Rwandan side Rayon Sports in the first round of the Caf Confederation groups stages on Sunday.
