Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona leaves KV Oostende for Anderlecht

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona has signed for Anderlecht from KV Oostende.

The Zimbabwe international was also on the radar of another Belgian side Standard Liege, but Anderlecht came with an enticing offer to lure him from Oostende ahead of next season.

Reports emerged last week that Musona could be lost to Oostende, but while the club played their cards close to their chest at the time, indications were that the player would still remain in Belgium.

Anderlecht took took to their social media platforms to announce the arrival of Musona on Wednesday midday.

Musona has taken the Belgian top flight by storm since his arrival from German outfit Hoffenheim in 2015.

He featured mostly on the left-wing during his three-year stint at Oostende, scoring 48 goals and providing 18 assists in over 110 appearances.

This past season, the Zimbabwean marksman made 28 appearances in all competitions for Oostende, scoring 10 goals and grabbing six assists in the process.

The move will be seen as a step in the right direction for the 27-year-old former Amakhosi marksman, who will now be campaigning in the Uefa Europa League with Anderlecht next season.

Musona is believed to have agreed a four-year deal with Anderlecht.

Anderlecht remains the most successful club in the Belgian top flight with 34 league titles to their name.

His departure from Oostende follows that of Andile Jali, who was released from his contract in April this year.

Unlike Musona, Jali took a decision to return to South Africa where he's hoping to sign with one of the big teams in the PSL before the start of the new campaign.

Musona's move to Anderlecht will no doubt benefit his career, and possibly the Zimbabwean national team in future simply because of the amount of experience he's going to going to gain in continental football.
