FIFA Ranking: India national team drop one place to 130th in the world

India have moved south in the latest FIFA rankings, but only by one spot...

The Indian national team have been ranked 130th in the world, as per the latest Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rankings, published on Thursday. 

India currently have a total of 244 points, one more than the previous month's total of 243 but were pushed down by Palestine who gained 13 crucial points and rose to 128th. India were placed at 129th in the previous month's rankings. 

The Blue Tigers  are now 20th among the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) members with Iran at 32nd spot the highest placed country from Asia.

Among the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) members, India are comfortably placed the highest. Maldives are now placed 140th while Bangladesh (190th), Nepal (173), Bhutan (177), Sri Lanka (196) and Pakistan (198) are ranked much lower. 

India's opponents in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifying group, Kyrgyzstan (124th), Myanmar (159th) and Macau (184th), have not seen any change in their rankings. 

Argentina continue to hold on to the first spot in the rankings followed by Brazil and Germany. Cameroon (33rd) were one of the biggest gainers, having moved up by 29 places following their victorious African Nations Cup campaign.
