African legends Nwankwo Kanu, Michael Essien and Peter Odemwingie have congratulated boxer Anthony Joshua after retaining his heavyweight titles on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old defeated Russia's Alexander Povetkin via knockout in the seventh round at Wembley to retain his International Boxing Federation [IBF], World Boxing Association  [WBA] and World Boxing Organisation [WBO] titles.

Saturday's victory in London extends Joshua's unbeaten streak to 22 out of 22 bouts with 100 percent win record.

And the former Premier League stars have taken to social media to hail the heavyweight champion.
