Everton fixtures: What results do Toffees need for Premier League survival?

Everton Football Club were founder members of the Football League and Premier League, spending just four years outside of the top-flight in the club’s entire history, but the club's standing among English football’s elite is under serious threat in 2022.
The Toffees have toiled before in the modern era, only to eventually get their heads back above water, but it may be that a first relegation in 71 years is on the cards as the Toffees find themselves stuck in an increasingly sticky situation.
Frank Lampard was drafted in to oversee a survival bid at Goodison Park back in January, following the dismissal of ex-Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, but what must he do in order to see Everton safe? GOAL takes a look.

What are Everton's remaining fixtures?
Date | Opponent | Venue |
---|---|---|
May 19 | Crystal Palace | Goodison Park |
May 22 | Arsenal | Emirates Stadium |
Everton’s remaining fixtures will see them bring the curtain down on a testing 2021-22 campaign away at a top four-chasing Arsenal side more concerned with events at the opposite end of the table.
There have, however, been winnable games – at least on paper – for the Toffees to find as they plot a bid to scramble back out of the drop zone.
What results do Everton need to avoid relegation?
Everton are currently two points above the relegation zone on 36, and have a game in hand on Leeds - who sit 17th - with six points left to play for.
The maximum points that 18th-placed Burnley can get is now 40, while those at Elland Road can only achieve 38, so Everton will be safe if they can pick up one more win.
Even if they find themselves trapped on level points with Jesse Marsch's Leeds, Lampard's team boast a vastly superior goal difference, meaning that a head-to-head contest would likely see them through to safety.
The Premier League's bottom five currently looks like this:
Pos | Team | P | W | D | L | GD | Pts |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
16 | Everton | 36 | 10 | 6 | 20 | -20 | 36 |
17 | Leeds | 37 | 8 | 11 | 18 | -38 | 35 |
18 | Burnley | 36 | 7 | 13 | 16 | -18 | 34 |
19 | Watford (R) | 37 | 6 | 5 | 26 | -42 | 23 |
20 | Norwich (R) | 37 | 5 | 7 | 25 | -56 | 22 |
