Enyimba face Raja Casablanca in Caf Confederation Cup semi-final

Having cruised past the Rwandans, the People’s Elephant will hope to keep their title-winning intent alive against the Moroccan in the semis

Enyimba will battle Raja Casablanca in the semi-final of this year’s Caf Confederation Cup next month after a big 5-1 quarterfinal win over Rayon Sports in Aba on Sunday.

The People’s Elephants swept aside the Rwandans in the quarterfinal and were handed the Moroccan Bolota League side who eliminated CARA Brazzaville 3-1 aggregate to advance.

Usman Abdullah’s men are without a title in Africa since 2004 when they won the Caf Champions League on the bounce and will now aim to reclaim continental glory by piping Raja, who also last did in 2003 with the then Caf Cup.

The Nigerian giants will welcome the Moroccan side in the first leg semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup in Aba on October 3 before making a trip to Casablanca three weeks later.

If Enyimba advance at the expense of Raja, they battle the winner between Egyptian Al-Masry and Congolese side AS Vita in the last four in the quest to reach the final.
