Eduok, Omeruo lead Kasimpasa past Konyaspor

Emem Eduok and Kenneth Omeruo were on target as Kasimpasa recorded a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Konyaspor in Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig game.

Eduok gave the hosts the lead in the 12th minute after curling in a right-footed effort, with goalkeeper Serkan Kirintili left rooted to the spot.

Amir Hadziahmetovic drew the visitors level in the 56th minute but Omeruo popped up to secure maximum points for Kemal Ozdes’ side at the death.

Following a quickly taken free kick, Strahil Popov sent in a cross and the on-loan Chelsea defender rose to power a header past the impressive Kirintili.

Eduok who played the entire duration scored his third goal in as many games for the Apaches while Omeruo, also on for 90 minutes, opened his goal account for the season in his ninth appearance for Kasimpasa.

This was Kasimpasa’s fifth league win of the season which sees them move up 10th in the Turkish Super Lig standings.

Kemal Ozdes’ side next welcome Boluspor to the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium in the fifth round of the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.
