Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has praised Sony Sugar coach  Kevin Omondi for his man of the match performance in his side’s 1-0 defeat by K’Ogalo.

Omondi frustrated Gor Mahia with point-blank saves in the evening, but was unfortunate to concede a goal in the slim lose to the league leaders at the Kisumu’s Moi Stadium on Wednesday.

Kerr, who side was denied four clear-cut chances by the custodian, praised Omondi for his performance which did not escape the eyes of the Briton.

“Our frustration is that we always want to score, make the impossible pass or cross or shot and to be fair, the Sony keeper was the man of the match,” Kerr said after the game.

Kerr, however, criticized Sony Sugar’s approach of the match, saying that the Millers made the situation very hard for his side by sitting behind the ball.

Kerr, in the meantime, praised his players for heeding his instructions: “Players actually listened to our game plan and it worked against a difficult side to break down. All the 11 players played behind the ball and we just had to play clever, move the ball around and be patient,” Kerr the club website.

It was a fixture of contrasting interests as Gor Mahia looked to extend the lead at the top while Sony side are struggling to get out of the relegation zone.
