Desire Oparanozie finds scoring boots for Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Guingamp win

Desire Oparanozie found her scoring boots after three months in Guingamp's 4-1 thrashing of FC Fleury in the French women's topflight encounter.

The 24-year-old who last scored a goal in March made her ninth league appearance of the season on Saturday and helped Frederic Biancalani's ladies get a victory at the Stade Centre Formation.

Oparanozie's 14th minute strike doubled the lead for the hosts after Adelie Fourre's opener in the fifth minute before Marie Leger pulled one back for the visitors three minutes from half time.

Louise Fleury recovered Guingamp two-goal lead in the 52nd minute before Fourre got her brace of the day and the third for the hosts six minutes later to ensure their return to winning ways.

The win placed Guingamp third on the French women topflight table with 14 points, though tied with fourth-placed Paris FC but they remain above them with a goal advantage from nine games.

Having being released, the Super Falcons forward will hope to bring her goalscoring form when Nigeria begin the quest to defend their title at this month's Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana.
