The midfielder says it is his ambition to conquer Africa once again, but this time with the Porcupine Warriors

Asante Kotoko ace Daniel Nii Adjei has set sights on winning his sixth continental trophy as the Porcupine Warriors get their 2018-19 Caf Confederation Cup campaign underway on Saturday.

In the twilight of his career, the 30-year-old is looking to lead the Porcupine Warriors to a first-ever Confederation Cup title, having rejoined the side in October.

He headlines the Kumasi-based side's 18-man squad for Saturday's first round away fixture against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks.

"I'm optimistic we will get closer to the [Confederations Cup] trophy," Adjei told Fox FM.

"We are in good shape and we have the confidence to play.

"I won two Caf Confederations Cup trophies and a Champions League trophy at TP Mezembe [of Congo DR].

"I want to do same now at Kotoko."

While with Mazembe, Adjei won the Caf Champions League in 2015, the Caf Confederation Cup in 2016 and 2017 and the Caf Super Cup in 2016.

Earlier this year, he won the Super Cup again - this time with Moroccan club Wydad Athletic Casablanca.

On Saturday, Kotoko will face Sharks at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi ahead of the return fixture in Kumasi a week later.

Last season, the Porcupine Warriors were kicked out of the Confederation Cup in the preliminary round.
