Talented Australian attacker Daniel Arzani will officially be the youngest player at the World Cup in Russia.

The 19-year-old earned the accolade after Poland cut Sebastian Szymanski from their final squad - a midfielder five months younger than Arzani.

It's been a stunning rise to prominence for the Iranian-born winger, who didn't make his first A-League start for club side Melbourne City until January against Perth Glory.

Arzani contributed two goals and three assists in his 18 league games last season, with only midfielder Luke Brattan created more scoring chances for Melbourne City from nine more appearances.

In fact, no A-League player attempted or completed more dribbles than Arzani over the entire season, despite the youngster's limited game time compared to others.

Arzani played 1194 minutes in the A-League, while Sydney FC's Johnny Warren medallist Adrian Mierzejewski featured for 2019 minutes.

He recently played the final six minutes in last week's 4-0 victory over Czech Republic, but didn't have the time to show his talents.

It's expected Arzani will get another opportunity to show what he can do for the national team during the friendly against Hungary on June 10 (AEST).

He will likely be used during the World Cup as an impact substitute against tiring opposition in the final 15-20 minutes of matches.

The Socceroos open their campaign in Russia with a clash against France in Kazan on June 16, before taking on Denmark on June 21 and Peru on June 26.
